Bart's class focuses on landscapes, cityscapes, seascapes, figures, and florals. Students can work with subjects drawn and painted from photos and other sources, with emphasis on artistic license, composition, proportion, and perspective. Both representational and impressionist styles are welcome.
About the Instructor
Born and educated in Italy until age 17, Bart continued his studies in New York, earning a degree in Illustration and Painting from Phoenix School of Art and Design (now Pratt Manhattan). He currently serves as an adjunct professor at Pratt and FIT, while also teaching privately. His connection to Italy remains strong through regular visits for painting and study.
Over a 35-year career as a freelance commercial artist, Bart has worked with both consumer and pharmaceutical advertising agencies. However, his true passion lies in impressionist painting, evident in his distinctive style that captures serenity despite his energetic personality. His fine art has been exhibited throughout Florida, Michigan, Italy, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New York, and the Hamptons. Currently, his work can be viewed at the Christopher Gallery and Westhampton Beach Gallery.
A father of five, Bart has traveled extensively with his wife throughout Italy, Grand Cayman, New York State, Michigan, and Florida. His paintings, reflecting the everyday life of ordinary people, are influenced by his New York residence.
