About the Instructor
Alica Anasa, an alumna of the Art and Design High in NYC, has displayed her artistic abilities from a young age. As a teenager, she attended The Art Students League on Saturdays and graduated with a gold medal in fashion design.
Her creative journey began in elementary school, designing and sewing outfits for Barbie dolls. She earned her degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology, majoring in fashion design with a minor in textiles. Alica has gained experience as a textile designer for various fashion houses freelance clients, specializing in painting on silk with dyes and techniques. Later, she pursued a master's degree in art education and her teaching license.
Since 2007, she has been teaching art in the NYC school system and currently instructs the Children's Class (ages 6-9) at the National Art League.
